Drive has
provided a short-term care service for people with disabilities in Brynsadler,
Pontyclun for a number of years. The
house itself consists of what were two separate cottages and is within easy
walking distance of Pontyclun village.
This service
consists of up to 3 bed spaces for individuals who require respite care. In any one-year, up to 50 individuals stay
at the house. The home is staffed on a
24 hour a day basis with the staffing hours being determined by the needs of
the people staying at the home. A
variety of aids and adaptations are provided in order to meet the needs of
individuals who may require respite.
One further bed
space at the home is set aside for longer stays - emergency accommodation of up
to 6 months. This allows for anyone who
is in need of emergency accommodation to have some security whilst their
long-term accommodation needs are assessed and the appropriate accommodation
provided.
