Drive has developed an exciting and innovative employment training service for people with disabilities.  The service is known as the Drive Future Skills Project.  The individual sites that make up this project are as follows:

Maes Newydd, Aberdare

This site consists of a garden centre providing employment training in horticulture and customer care for up to 18 people.  Also on this site is a pottery and ceramics workshop providing employment training for 8 people.  In addition, there is also a café, which provides employment training for 4 people in catering and customer care.  The site is fully open to customers.

Talygarn, Pontyclun

Drive has run a horticultural project on this site for more than 17 years.  The project is located within the grounds of the former Talygarn Miners Rehabilitation Hospital and provides employment training for up to 16 people.

Woodwork Project, Treforest

Drive has worked in partnership with the Rhondda Cynon Taff County Borough Council on this project for the past 4 years.  The site provides employment training in woodwork for up to 12 people.

Drive would wish to recognise the help of Objective 1 funding and also the Rhondda Cynon Taff Borough Council for both the support and encouragement in the development of these initiatives.
