About Drive
Drive was registered as a charitable company in 1983 by a group of local business people and social entrepreneurs in order to provide a range of community services for people in South East Wales.
As the organisation grew, people were employed to manage the increasing range of services being provided. Drives first office base was originally located in Pontypridd, prior to moving to Talbot Green and later Pontyclun in 1984, and finally to Nantgarw in 2006.
In 1980 Drive successfully developed a respite care service for individuals living with their parents and carers at the family home, an employment training service in horticultural skills, a range of supported accommodation options provided in partnership with a number of registered social landlords. Drive provides support services to adults and young people with disabilities. Drives’ aim is to support people to live full and valued lives in their local community.
Drives vision statement is that “people with disabilities have the right to live full and valued lives” Drives mission statement is that the organisation will support people to:-
Achieve their full potential.
Exercise choice within all aspects of their lives.
Be actively engaged in all aspects of their lives.
Drive is a non-profit making company, which is registered as a charity, Drive is a well established Business with its own policies and procedures which staff must work to, Drive is domiciliary care agency registered under the Care Standards Act 2000 and complies fully with all legislation set out by the Welsh Assembly and is inspected annually by the CSSIW to ensure that it continues to comply..
