Volunteering

Drive has a Volunteering Policy.
Our Policy Statement says:-

Drive is committed to good practice in the use of volunteers.
Drive will recruit volunteers where it will:

• promote community involvement in the organisation.
• strengthen links with other groups.
• promote community participation and relationships for individual Service Users as part of agreed support plans.

Volunteers will be recruited to provide additional services where resources or specific services are not available in line with the overall aims and objectives of the organisation.

Volunteers will be recruited in recognition that everyone has the right to make a valued contribution through use of their own skills and experience.

In the recruitment of volunteers the views of staff, Service Users, volunteer organisations, the community and the volunteers themselves will be considered.

Motivation, induction, support, responsibility for decision-making and the development of skills through appropriate training and development will be important factors in volunteer placements. Any volunteer placements will be managed in accordance with Drive’s Procedure on recruitment of staff and Drive’s Volunteers Code of Practice.
